2006 Chinese GERD Epidemiologic Workshop was held in Shanghai, China

¡¡¡¡From Apr. 25 to 26, 2006, the Chinese GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) Epidemiologic Workshop was held in Hilton Hotel, Shanghai, China. Medical Affairs Department of AstraZeneca China sponsored this workshop, on which several critical issues were analyzed and discussed. Meeting objectives as follows:
¡¡¡¡ 1) Summarizing results and experience of the pilot study;
¡¡¡¡ 2) Building the framework of main study.
¡¡¡¡ In the meeting, Prof. Jia He and Assoc. Prof. Yang Cao made a detailed presentation for results of a pilot study in Shanghai which was completed by the Department of Health Statistics, Second Military Medical University. The experience derived from the pilot study has great referential value for the succedent main study, which will be implemented in four or five cities of China.
¡¡¡¡ Attendees included statistics, epidemiology and GI (gastrointestinal) experts from China, Sweden and Australia.
